Before taking the examination MSWs must work for 3,000 hours under the supervision of an LCSW and PhDs/DSWs must work for 2,000 hours under supervision of an LCSW
Professional Clinical Social Work Experience:
You must meet with your supervisor(s) a minimum of one hour per week to discuss client cases and treatment procedures
You may be supervised in groups of no more than 5 people at a time

LCPC Licensure Requirements in Illinois
Before taking the examination MAs must have two years of experience that include a minimum of 3,360 clock hours obtained in no less than 104 weeks; including 1,920 clock hours of direct face-to-face service to clients. Part-time experience shall be counted toward the experience.
A qualified supervisor means any person who is a licensed clinical professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed clinical psychologist, or psychiatrist.
Any work as a counselor in a professional capacity. Can be full-time, part-time, volunteer, etc. Can be accumulated over several years as long as it is done in no less than two years (104 weeks)
